Project Update July 24

Further to the initial grant application submitted in March,

We have submitted a planning application for a revised design and await confirmation  of the designs approval.

The building is of the same footprint with the same exterior finish as the original design

Our architect has now produced a revised design utilizing a prefabricated wooden constructed building in lieu of the concrete construction. This scheme will reduce the construction cost from £200K to £100K.

The project will be built to the highest current 'sustainability' housing requirements demanded by planning authorities and grant donors - It will include :  Solar panels with battery storage, grey water recycling and an externally opening disabled toilet that can be opened by a radar key.

To raise the moneys required, we have submitted applications for two major Grants and we will be making further applications to help make it up to the now required £100,000

The Club will also be looking at raising funds for the project with various activities including table top sales with other organizations etc.,

Also a  ‘Buy A Brick scheme has been launched,  where individuals can make a donation to the project by theoretically purchasing a brick, The donation will be acknowledged with their names on a sign board within the clubhouse when built.

A Brick costs £100, If you would like to donate a brick,

please contact our Secretary: Mr. John Hannah
