The Semi Final and Finals

 April 9th 2026

A Report from our competition organiser Jeff​

​

 Despite the weather - drizzling rain , we got started a few minutes early with the first semi-final that was ;

 Colin  v  Jeff

It perhaps showed that Colin had not had the practice that Jeff had put in, and the result was a win to Jeff by 7 hoops to 4

 

The second semi-final was a much more interesting affair with the competition favourite namely

John H v Helen .

Helen quickly fell behind in the first 3 hoops and was soon 3  nil down . With great fighting spirit

Helen fought back and took the tie to a golden hoop which she won with a long range blue ball

----  Helen was through to the final—much to the delight of the audience.

 The confidence of Helen was obvious following her victory over John H ,and she soon racked up a 3 nil lead .

Jeff fought back to take the tie to another golden hoop -- 

some in the crowd thought that this was more by luck than good play.

Helen again pulled out yet another long range shot with her yellow ball to become the New Sheraton Champion -- 

We are all delighted for her---  so the ladies retain the Sheraton Cup for a 2nd year

 

Thanks to everyone who took part, and to our supporters on what was a miserable day --  

not forgetting our ladies who kindly sorted drinks at the interval and the lovely biscuits
